There is now a new technology. Until a few years ago, renovating service connections to the main drain was a problem which could only be solved at great technical and financial cost. Since there was a growing need for renovation in the area of lateral connections to the mains, a new procedure was invented in 1995. The result: ERGELIT dry mortar Kanaltec used in conjunction with the lateral connection renovation robot EL200/300 and EL300/600 manufactured by the firm of Hächler Umwelttechnik of 5430 Wettingen (Switzerland).
The engineers involved set themselves the task of developing a system which would guarantee the user and the customer an economical, high quality repair. The basic principle of their research and development was to combine as many as possible of the steps in the procedure as it existed up till then, into one operation, and thus to reduce the time-factor many times over.
Working in conjunction with its associates, the firm of Rainer Hermes has developed a pressurised injection dry mortar as the basis of the success of the procedure. As an alternative to ERGELIT Kanaltec iS which was used at first, Kanaltec CF was subsequently introduced on to the market, in the middle of 1998. Its incontestable success, given the superiority of Kanaltec CF compared with Kanaltec iS, has led to the continued development of this tried and tested variant. At the end of 1999 the firm produced the “2000” version.
In addition, for industrial lateral connections the more corrosion-resistant ERGELIT Kanaltec CF/HS was brought out. The HS grade comprises all the corrosion-resistance features of the familiar ERGELIT Kombina KS2. The range of products for the renovation of lateral connections has thus been considerably broadened.
